Luxury Iceland itinerary by land, sea, and sky

Arrival & Helicopter to Lodge 

The flight takes you over Iceland’s recent eruption site, active geothermal areas, and north across fjords and valleys. Land twice along the way — once near the volcano and again for a short stop at Glymur, Iceland’s second-highest waterfall. After 1.5–2 hours of flying and exploring, you’ll arrive directly at your lodge in West Iceland. The spa will be warm and ready, and the team will welcome you with drinks and then dinner to settle in after the journey.

After a relaxed breakfast, buggies will be waiting outside the lodge. Today you’ll drive up along Langá, one of Iceland’s best salmon rivers, before looping around Langávatn Lake. Midday, enjoy a luxury BBQ lunch on the lakeshore with grilled Icelandic lamb, fish, and vegetables cooked over an open fire. There’s time to fish or forage for berries nearby before returning to the lodge in a 4x4 Sprinter. Sauna and hot tub waiting, dinner on-site.

Morning drive to a private Þingvellir dive spot, away from the crowds. You’ll experience some of the clearest water in the world while freediving between tectonic plates, guided by expert instructors. After drying off, continue to Hvammsvík Hot Springs for lunch followed by hot pools by the ocean, sauna, and cold plunge. If you like, add a private art collection tour on-site. Return to the lodge in the afternoon for dinner and optional massage.

Morning drive to Stykkishólmur fishing village where your private RIB boat will be waiting. Cross Breiðafjörður Bay, one of Iceland’s most beautiful island areas, known for wildlife and clear waters. Expect whale sightings and light fishing along the way. Land on Flatey Island for a unique private lunch, freshly prepared using local ingredients. After exploring the island’s small village and church, return to the mainland and drive back to your lodge. Optional massages in the evening.

A slow morning and then chef-prepared lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, drive to Víðgelmir, one of Iceland’s largest lava caves, with incredible formations and color inside. After exploring underground, head to Húsafell Canyon Baths for a private soak in one of the most peaceful natural geothermal pools in Iceland, surrounded by forest and rock formations. Return to the lodge for dinner and a quiet evening by the fire.

A full day of helicopter adventure  - the EC130 lifts off for a stunning circuit across Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, Þórsmörk, Landmannalaugar, Gullfoss, and Háifoss. Expect 4–5 landings in incredible locations — glaciers, canyons, and volcanic valleys. Lunch at Skálakot Manor Hotel is included (a family run and small boutique hotel), with great local produce and mountain views. The day can be customized with optional glacier guiding, mountain biking and a wilderness dining setup if desired. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

After breakfast and check-out, drive back to Reykjavik for a relaxed day in the city. Visit museums, shops, and galleries, followed by lunch at one of Reykjavik’s top restaurants. A private scent journey at Fischersund, a family-run perfumery, offers a creative and memorable finish to your week. In the late afternoon, you’ll be privately transferred to KEF airport for your flight home.
