The dry season, from May to September, is considered the best time to visit Indonesia. These months bring clear skies, calm seas, and optimal conditions for exploration, from temple visits and rainforest treks to island-hopping by private yacht. Underwater visibility is also at its best, making this the prime season for diving and snorkeling in regions such as Komodo, Bali, and Raja Ampat.
Indonesia’s extraordinary biodiversity includes iconic species such as the Komodo dragon, orangutans in Borneo and Sumatra, and birdlife ranging from hornbills to birds-of-paradise. Marine encounters are equally remarkable, with manta rays, whale sharks, and vibrant coral ecosystems among the highlights. A passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages is required to enter Indonesia. Most visitors from the US, UK, EU, Australia, and Canada may obtain a Visa on Arrival (VOA) or apply for an e-VOA, both valid for 30 days and extendable once. Proof of a return or onward ticket is also required. Our team will confirm the latest requirements in advance and ensure all documentation is arranged for a seamless entry.
Lightweight, breathable clothing made from natural fabrics such as linen or cotton is ideal. Include elegant resort wear, swimwear, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen. A light jacket is recommended for cooler highland areas, and a sarong is appropriate for temple visits. Comfortable sandals and walking shoes are useful for exploring, and insect repellent is advised.
